Our guest performer for 28 March was Perfecto De Castro (website).  Perf, his wife and two sons - who accompanied him to the evening’s performance - reside in Duarte, California.

Perf’s guitar is a 1973 Jose Ramirez 1A 10-string.  He explained the history of and demonstrated the differences between a traditional 6-string classical guitar and his 10-string guitar.

Perf’s program lasted a hour, and his playing was truly excellent.  The program included four pieces by Filipino composers, and an encore piece by Michael Hendrix.

The program is shown below.  For MP3 audio excerpts, click on MP3.
