In 2002 he was selected for a Department of State Fulbright grant to continue the work begun with his thesis "Dilermando Reis and the Valorization of the Brazilian Guitar," and spent 2003 in Brazil. There he performed and gave master classes or lectures at festivals in Guaratinguetá (three times) and Itanhaem, São Paulo; the "Violões em Concerto" series in Mato Gross do Sul; and The Villa Lobos Museum and Uni Rio in Rio de Janeiro.
He currently resides in Idyllwild, California, and performs regularly there and in other Inland Empire locations. Recent performances include the Long Beach Classical Guitar Society. His 8,000 word article "Towards a Biography of Dilermando Reis" (actual title "Guitarist of the People, Guitarist of the Elite: Towards a Biography of Brazil's Dilermando Reis) appeared in the winter 2005 (Vol.31 No. 1) edition of Soundboard Magazine.
